SBN & FUNKY KIDS RADIO VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

SBN and Funky Kids Radio provide exciting volunteer opportunities for young people (and the young at heart!), such as production crew and on-air hosts, internships and global reporting. If you would like to join the team as a volunteer, then we'd love to hear from you. Whilst the age range for our on-air crew and reporters is 8-25 years, there are numerous other roles such as social media, research and script writing, audio editing, voice overs and more, which are suitable for someone of any age. So, even if you are over 25 and interested in volunteering, then we'd definitely love to hear from you too!

SBN empowers young people to communicate their ideas, innovations and passion for sharing culture and creating a healthy, sustainable and equitable future for all children and future generations globally. The Network offers enrichment opportunities for young people and schools to produce a range of media - for young people, by young people - and SBN is built upon the foundation of valuing and encouraging inclusion, diversity, environmental and social responsibility, cultural richness and creativity in the broadcast experience.

SBN's SwitchOn Radio Enrichment Program for schools provides an excellent, life enhancing, extra curricular activity for students from primary to tertiary level. The acronym stands for Students With Initiatives To Create Humanitarian Outcomes Now and this program offers schools the opportunity to create their own one hour radio show to broadcast live-to-air on SBN's award winning national youth show 'Primary Perspectives'.  This incursion/excursion provides extensive mentoring for students and teachers to learn many of the skills for producing an edutaining radio talk program on a subject of their own choosing.
